Professor Francesca Cornelli is the current Academic Director for the Coller Institute. Professor of Finance at London Business School, Professor Cornelli has a broad set of research interests within the spheres of corporate finance, industrial and transition economics. As a member of the core research team she worked on the inaugural private equity work commissioned by the World Economic Forum – “Globalization of Alternative Investments”. Professor Cornelli is also a Fellow of Centre for Economic Policy Research, Associate Editor for the Journal of Finance, Associate Editor of Journal of Financial Intermediation and Editorial Board member of Review of Economic Studies.

Ann was Executive Director at the Coller Institute of Private Equity for the past two years (2008-2009) playing a key role in defining and implementing many of the strategic initiatives and projects. She has extensive banking experience within the fields of credit, fixed income sales, derivatives and capital markets. She headed credit at CSFB and European Corporate Origination at BNP Paribas. She qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PriceWaterhouse Coopers and holds a BSc (Econ) from LSE and is a London Business School Sloan Fellow. Ann is a member of the Advisory Board.

Hans Holmen

B Com (University of Adelaide); Grad Dip Applied Finance and Investment (FINSIA)

Executive Director

Hans has 9 years of finance and investment experience spanning across principal investment, project finance, relationship management and credit management in UK and Australia. Prior to joining the Coller Institute, Hans worked for Merrill Lynch Europe in its Global Private Equity division, specialising in infrastructure investment. His role included both the assessment of investment opportunities and fund raising with respect to a new global infrastructure fund. Prior to this, Hans worked at Commonwealth Bank of Australia (“CBA”) in its Project Finance division where he was involved in the origination, assessment and execution of a variety of corporate and social infrastructure transactions. He also worked as a relationship manager and credit analyst within CBA. Hans holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Adelaide and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment from the Financial Services Institute of Australasia.

Tim is a venture capital and clean-tech executive who is also founder and Chairman of Dolma Development Fund – a non-profit impact investor in Nepal and Ethiopia. After nine years at Deloitte and J.P. Morgan, and an MBA from London Business School, Tim became Managing Director at listed innovation fund Interregnum plc. He has worked across the energy, renewables, technology and urban development sectors. He is co-founder and partner of Academy IP – a New York-based IP commercialisation investor partnering with major, US research universities. He is currently General Manager of Living PlanIT – a company developing and investing in clean-technologies for sustainable urban development.
